Modern Living was a high-end furniture store located in Los Angeles’ premiere shopping area of Melrose Boulevard. Offering furnishings from Le Courbosier, Cassina, Philip Stark and other notable designers — their affiliation with LACMA provided a wonderful opportunity for a collaboration for the key art needed for a Rennie Mackintosh exhibition. At the time it required physical research to discover the designer and source a photograph which I combined with sketches and schematics to create the poster used at the museum.
